Our mother’s experiences are different; however, there are family secrets that I’m aware of, yet don’t know the details of. My mom passed in 2019 from metastatic cervical cancer. My reference to her wanting to be heard was regarding cancer treatment at the end stages (and likely other times of her life too). She wanted to be heard, yet had difficulty speaking up about the path she wanted to take. Her body ended up speaking up for her.
