This was a great week-long trauma course! Thank you for sharing Ethel. Gabor Mate is one of the primary sources for trauma having experience with childhood development ( highly influenced by his own experience as a Hungarian Jew during the holocaust), family medicine, palliative care, and addiction medicine in Vancouver (which has one of the highest concentrations of intravenous substance users in North America). His book In the Realm of Hungry Ghosts is enlightening and posits that we are all on the addiction spectrum and are only differentiated between our soother of choice (food, gambling, work, sex, drugs) and where we are on the continuum.
