I use TdP lamps occasionally on feet in pregnancy, but not on the back or abdomen. Most pregnant women are hot, so I don’t use it often. If they have back pain or are very cold (like the yang def patients in the first trimester with slow embryo growth), I am more partial to having them moxa Du 4 for the cold patients, and cupping for the more robust patients.
I’d be interested in reading the data on fetal toxicity though. Where was the lamp placed, for how long, how did they identify it was the TdP lamp. Interesting food for thought.
