I love Ciara’s suggestions, and agree with Debra that the frequent left side lying is important, there’s a big difference in blood flow. Also agree with Debra that although you don’t want to make the patient wrong, that study is not so applicable to the current case — also 20+ years old and just a single study. Sarah and Debra have a great paper on why even a few more recent studies claiming ‘safety’ in using those points during pregnancy do not have remotely enough numbers to show safety — and indeed have some outcomes suggestive of possible increase in preterm contractions with the points (at least when needled by physios).
