Liz, I know it is a question for so many of us especially once the idealism of learning this medicine is tempered by the economic realities of practicing it! I also loved Lorie’s and Kelli’s thoughts and have been thinking about what my relationship to community really IS…and how the cracks and gaps in that question for me are an important thread of this exploration. I appreciate your reflections on pronouns, too! That’s definitely an edge for me, but I am really interested in my own gender expression as not fitting into the binary, and I know pronouns are essential for inclusivity with trans and non-binary people so I want to honor that. Looking forward to this year together : )
