I recently stumbled on an incredibly moving Vietnamese poet, whose work prompted me to read more about refugee boat people. I’m sorry to hear that your experience seems to include all the horrors I read about. I know there is so much more to it than the refugee component, as you refer to growing up in the UK. I really like how you say a theme for you is the human experience beneath the outer labels. I want to know more! Sounds so juicy to me, especially how you want to play a part as a physician to ease others’ sufferings.
