Erin, your wild, soul-brimming, beautiful poetry lands in my heart. Thank you for granting yourself permission to write is and us permission to receive it. I am struck by the poetry that came through you, the condor and the hummingbird. It reminds me of the Tibetan sky burial, a feast where the dead parts of the body and soul are blessed and offered to the birds as a sacred gift. Although it may seem grotesque, it is viewed as a sacred nectar offering that both assists the body/soul as well as the imbibing birds. Transformation at its finest!
