Yes, flower essences and herbal medicines do work on different levels. My experience of flower essences, given they are made from the passage of sunlight through the blossom and captured in liquid, is that they work on a much more etheric level. There is less yin material substance in flower essences and so they tend to work accordingly on the spiritual/soul levels of our being.
The Centaury does feel like it could be very supportive to you given what you are describing. You might wait until after our April meeting to begin, but if you want to experiment sooner, start by taking 4 drops under your tongue, 4-5 times/day. Or you can put the drops in water and take them that way.
