Good morning, Judy – I understand the interpretation you say some psychoanalysts would resort to in explaining your fall down the stairs, but I prefer to hold the disorder as an invitation to humility, to remember our ‘right size’ in the face of the Divine. It feels less blaming, less accusatory, and in my own case it does often feel like a call from the universe to remain humble.

In this recent instance, it could simply be that this mother does not want to look at herself in relationship to her children’s emotional and mental distress, and so needs a target to project blame on.

It feels important not to interpret the disorder as a message meant to discourage you from taking risk, shining, showing yourself. Lorie always talks about bearing the disorder or nigredo as a necessary and essential component of incarnating some new order. So, we climb back in the ring, so to speak, and keep showing up for ourselves in the ways our entelechy is calling us to do.

Wishing you a good week ahead, Judy.
