Hi Lorne, this is a big deal in the UK where the NHS use BMI as a way to ration treatment and set it at 30 to exclude women from being eligible for free IVF. (It’s a postcode lottery in the UK, where I live – Newcastle – couples are eligible for 3 rounds up to the age of 40 which is incredible or appropriate given how you look at it with the WHO recommending 3 rounds!, but parts of the UK and particularly London have cut offs from 35yo and some only 1 round etc.) Anyway there is a TCM practitioner in the UK called Nicola Salmon who is a Fat Positive awareness coach and is talking a lot about this very subject on IG at the moment, she is trying to raise awareness around how it might be more to do with the lack of different doses of the stimulation drugs being used in the studies and that women who are a higher BMI might need a higher dose of the stims in order to see successful outcomes.
