I have noticed that most REIs that I have come across do not do much in terms of endometriosis treatment nor to they really look for it in many instances. The only treatment I have seen is for adenomyosis and that is only depot lupron on occasion.
I have had so few patients actually say that they have had a laparoscopy to even look to see if there was endo – perhaps its an insurance issue since its an invasive procedure? If that is the case, no wonder so many cases go undiagnosed. I feel that every other patient I see potentially has endo according to their symptoms but most do not undergo any invasive exploration, instead they are treated symptomatically or not at all.
