This has a very good outline of the symptoms and level of disease from a TCM perspective (38 mins) and an interesting look at herbal formulas (46mins). There has been some debate in the acu community about using this formula. The modifications come from China’s experience with COVID. I have no experience myself- just sharing and I am not advocating the use of this formula for pregnant folks– just sharing some interesting info.

My personal experience with this is from my first pregnancy. The babe turned with moxa after a couple of days. She would stay head down until I had a day at work where I sat often and she would flip back. This happened twice. I did not know to continue with the moxa treatment. The last time I turned her, I continued with moxa for 5 days and she stayed head down. I learned this from a friend who uses moxa to improve the baby’s position. In hind sight I would have continued with more moxa and she was still very high- but first babe- you learn 🙂

In general I ask people to continue moxa for five days and then add more if needed.

    Hello!

Renee I love the japanese moxa from Kenshen Trading. I think they have been taken over by Blue Poppy- it is aged for 50 years and just smells like insense and they also have amazing moxa cones to put on the end of the needle and there is no smoke. They are fantastic- also expensive but so good.

Tansy- if you are open would you mind sharing your manual for post partum that you share with your client and also about wrapping the tummy. I would love to learn more about this.

I don’t have much to add to what has already been said- all of this information is wonderful.

    Thank you so much,

Interesting- when is it good to start pelvic floor physio in pregnancy and in what instances would you not have it? Would you feel good about someone with twins or a history of premature births doing pelvic floor physio?

    Thank you,

    Ciara

    Hi Kari!

I have done many zoom acupressure courses and they work well. I have my table set up and I use my kids as models to demonstrate the points. First, I have a very clear presentation (something like a powerpoint) showing the points, what they do and where to find them and then demonstrate on my kids how to find them. It is fun and easy to do once you get used to it. The connection builds and people will ask questions when they are unsure! Good Luck!

    Hi Claudia,

I think you meant to put a link in your talk about c-section care but there is no link.

    Thanks,

    C

Thank you Susan. I am very concerned about BP, HELP or pre-eclampsia- why I wrote this post.. I will try doing the massage.

If possible can you please tell me how to make Barley Tea. She will be asking me the exact amount and how much to drink. If you could share a little bit about dosage etc, I would really appreciate it.

Thank you for your great info.

Thank you for this. I was wondering if moxa could be ok. I am a huge moxa fan. I cannot moxa in the clinic. Maybe I need to do a home visit. A moxa stick would be too hot- is that correct?

I think I will suggest that she starts swimming. Often women love to swim with a flutter board.

I love the hot showers and mint tea.

Just to be totally clear- when you say PE- do you mean Pre-Eclampsia not Pulmonary Embolism- right? I am very concerned about pre-eclampsia.
