Biography

I’m Dani Cullimore, she/they, a Registered Acupuncturist practicing in Guelph, ON, Canada. I came to studying acupuncture with a background in Medical/Cultural Anthropology with a research focus on women’s reproductive issues, mainly – perceptions and experiences of menstruation; the use of hormones for the manipulation of menses; and menstrual suppression. Though unintentionally, I feel as though I am now doing elements fieldwork component of my (very cut short) PhD program.

I was called to this practice after having received acupuncture treatments for both a sprained thumb and grief. It was profoundly helpful in my healing and led me to pursue studies.

I’m 6 years into my acupuncture professional practice where I’ve been treating from a TCM foundation. I am drawn to going more deeply into Classical Acupuncture as I feel I’m at a crossroad with my practice: I’ve always felt there was ‘something missing’ and thought maybe it was ‘just me’. And so, humbly, I have arrived here. With each time I’ve attended a talk or course from Dr. Farrell, I’m so appreciative of what is shared and how it is conveyed – it just makes sense/feels right: I feel great alignment with these practices and perspectives and I’m very much looking forward to this time with you all.
