The best learning comes from being able to interact with the teachers and your peers in your program. Our profession is one of the few health professions without an internship… The Healthy Seminars solution is mentorship from senior practitioners.
Each program will have a start and finish date where you can do some self-paced learning as well as interact with peers and the teachers. A great chance to ask questions as you work through the material and review case studies too. It is basically a hybrid model where you watch some live and recorded lectures plus the teachers and assistants will have office hours to review case studies in real-time as well as a forum to discuss the material with each other and ask for input on cases.
This is a great opportunity to receive and offer peer support and to gain confidence and deeper understanding through mentorship.
OUR MENTORS
Debra Betts
Debra graduated from the London College of Acupuncture in 1989. With a practice based in women’s health she commenced acupuncture courses for midwives in 1997. This led to publications on the use of acupuncture and acupressure in obstetric practice including the text book “The Essential Guide to Acupuncture in Pregnancy & Childbirth” in 2006, which has been translated into German and French.
Yvonne Farrell
Dr. Farrell has been practicing and teaching Chinese Medicine and Channel Theory since 1996.
She directs her teaching towards the empowerment of students with the hope that they will embody the spiritual aspects of Chinese Medicine and make them their own. Dr. Farrell believes that self-cultivation, self-knowledge, and critical thinking are essential in developing capacity as a practitioner of Chinese Medicine. To that end, she teaches dynamic, informative and thought-provoking live CEU courses and webinars through LA Herbs and Acupuncture and Healthy Seminars.
Laura Erlich
Laura Erlich, LAc, FABORM, has practiced Integrative Chinese Medicine since 2007, in West Los Angeles and Silver Lake, CA. She also maintains a labor support practice, having accompanied hundreds of women through the journey of pregnancy and childbirth as a doula. Laura is the founder and owner of Mother Nurture Wellness, a clinic dedicated to supporting women through the journey of fertility, the childbearing cycle and all areas of health and wellness. Her areas of specialty include women’s health, fertility enhancement (with or without ART), conscious conception, prenatal and post-partum care, gynecological disorders and menopause. In addition to practicing, Laura is passionate about teaching and writing. She offers continuing education courses on infertility, obstetrics and women’s health to acupuncturists all over the world through Healthy Seminars, in person at her clinic, and to the doctoral cohort at Yo San University. Laura offers a 6 month Fertility Mentorship through Healthy Seminars as well. Through this mentorship, participants can gain confidence and deep insight into both eastern and western approaches to the treatment of infertility, with an emphasis on integrating holistic and allopathic modalities. She is the co-author of Feed Your Fertility, a guide to optimizing fertility through nutrition and Chinese Medicine, with Emily Bartlett, LAc, (Fair Winds Press 2015). Laura presented at the 2015 Integrative Fertility Symposium in Vancouver, Canada.
Claudia Citkovitz
Claudia Citkovitz, PhD, LAc., has led the Acupuncture Service at NYU Lutheran since 2004, supervising 8 acupuncturists who provide inpatient care and clinical instruction in the areas of neurological and orthopedic management, rehabilitation, labor and delivery, pain management. Dr. Citkovitz studied Chinese language in Beijing and acupuncture at the Pacific and Tri-State colleges in New York.
Lorie Eve Dechar
Lorie is passionate about her work as a clinician, teacher, mentor, dream tender, and poetic scholar. In addition to writing the first and only modern book on the Five Spirits of ancient Chinese medicine, She has worked for over three decades to integrate the principles and practice of Chinese medicine with Western depth psychology to create Alchemical Healing, a therapeutic modality directly focused on the psycho-spiritual and soul issues of our time.
Benjamin Fox
