Kari – I love this story and all you’ve taken from the experience of your and Kenneth’s walk on a mildly windy afternoon! Wow, nothing like such clear messages from one’s immediate environment!
I also take inspiration from you as I prepare for my own second Saturn Return this year. Gosh, when I think back to the lost young man I was then, but that was also the time in my life when I discovered astrology and began to know myself in new ways through that lens. It’s quite a remarkable gift to be able to reflect back on our own growth and evolution, and I appreciate your taking the time to share you own discoveries with all of us.
I also want to say that this story I know would benefit others in the ‘Astrology for Everyone’ Space on our ANP Network. As we wind down our access to these Forums on the HS site, I want to invite you to continue posting these kinds of shares within our community network, either at the ‘Home’ Space where everyone on the network will have access to your share, or in dedicated Spaces such as the Astrology for Everyone Space. Once the Level 2 begins, I’ll create a dedicated Space for all of you who are enrolled in that program.

3. We do sell flower essence blends to our patients. If they need a single essence, we refer them to the sources mentioned to purchase themselves. Making a blend is explained in The Alchemy of Inner Work. Honestly, what we charge varies on the situation and the person, so I can’t give you a set price, but listen to your own body felt sense about what makes sense for you given the cost of purchasing the essences, your time in considering what will most serve your patient, and the time it takes to make a blend.
4. We dilute essential oils if we are going to use them over a large area of the body as in massage. Lorie most always applies them neat to acupuncture points. The citrus essential oils are photosensitive so you want to be certain that a person doesn’t expose to sun an area where they have been applied as it can cause burning.
5. Lorie uses her fingertip. It the oil is thin and pours fast, we suggest putting a few drops in the palm of one hand and then dipping your finger from the other hand to apply. In fact, this method works well for all essential oils.
6. We do not sell essential oils to patients, though again, Lorie does sometimes make blends tailored to specific needs for a person and they are always diluted in a carrier oil. Lorie buys mostly from Original Swiss Aromatics, though like flower essences, there are many, many sources to purchase from. We do not have a wholesale account with any company, but that might be something worth pursuing, especially if you want to resell single oil bottles. The blends we sell vary in price. I think a good general rule if you do buy wholesale is to double the price you pay (at a maximum) for retail sale.

Hi Alice – good questions! I trust you’ve read Chapter 9 of The Alchemy of Inner Work, but you might want to review it, particularly starting on the bottom of page 131. In response to your questions:
1. The dishwasher should be perfectly adequate for sterilization.
2. We purchase most of our flower essences from Flower Essence Services. But we also use LotusWei and Lindsay Fauntleroy’s line. Lorie has been lately very fond of Grandparents of the Forest flower essences. There are so many good people making flower essences now, so I’ll be interested in hearing from others where they are getting their essences. See also Tree Frog Farm. And, of course, in the appropriate seasons you can make your own.
